My name is Jessica Hashimoto and I am the artist behind all of these wonderful pieces. My home studio is based in Southern California, where I reside with my husband and two beautiful children. I’m a full-time stay at home mom and part-time (night owl) artist.

I have been an artist for nearly all of my life; participating in art contests, classes, and commissioned pieces. I have experience with acrylic painting, graphite drawing, and now oil painting. I prefer to paint landscapes, portraits, and still life. I am an Alla Prima artist - I enjoy painting subjects in one sitting. I also really enjoy painting en plein air (painting from life, outdoors).

Painting is such a beautiful and challenging passion of mine. I find the process to be therapeutic and thought-provoking. It’s very much like putting a puzzle together (with LOTS of pieces) and I love that. Contrary to some beliefs, painting is a very physical and cerebral experience. It’s all about painting what you see and not what you know. That’s why every artist’s interpretation of their subject is so beautiful. Coming out of the painting experience, I love observing what my mind and hands have created. I’m very proud of my efforts and my work.
